Fire Station Visit

On the 13th September 2012 Market Weighton Beaver colony visited the fire station to understand what an important role the fire brigade plays in our local community. They learnt about how the fire station works, how the fire fighters are called out in an emergency and what a fire fighter wears.

Once station manager J Speak had explained all about the station, we divided the group in two so the beavers could explorer the fire engines, both inside and out.

John then arranged a demonstration of how they would put up ladders and squirt water from the height of a 2 story building before letting the beavers loose with a hose.

I would like to thank the fire fighters for showing the beaver colony around Market Weighton fire Station.
